Push-to-talk capability coming to G7c

Introducing Push-to-Talk

Our award-winning G7 devices continue to revolutionize gas detection and lone worker monitoring. Today, Blackline Safety is excited to introduce a new push-to-talk service option that allows G7c to function like a two-way radio. Shipping in December 2018, G7c users will have the option to immediately call teammates on the same channel or to switch channels to easily communicate with other teams. Unlike conventional radios, push-to-talk (PTT) has no radio licensing and no range limit. PTT provides an organization with radio functionality without the need to invest in a separate fleet of radios. G7c is the world’s first gas detector and lone worker monitor to feature push-to-talk communications. It combines a world-leading gas detector, a lone worker safety monitor and a two-way radio. Plus, it eliminates the need for employees to wear and charge multiple devices.

Redefining Instant Communication

The cellular connectivity behind G7c’s PTT capability allows for network coverage in over 100 countries. With 100 channel options, PTT gives your team the ability to instantly connect from anywhere in the world with the push of the red latch. Just like a two-way radio, users can select a channel and communicate with other devices on that same channel. PTT also features an all-call channel for emergency broadcasts to every device on the network. This channel allows G7 to transmit a message to all devices in your organization, making it ideal for safety supervisors or managers. With the ability to connect with 250 people on a single channel, PTT makes it easy for employees in different regions to coordinate their work while ensuring everyone’s safety.

Maximized Productivity

PTT eliminates the need for expensive, intrinsically safe radios. Affordability also allows for more employees to have access to radio functionality. Many businesses haven’t equipped each employee with two-way radios but they wear a gas detector or lone worker monitor. PTT solves the challenge of purchasing and maintaining multiple devices by combining three products into one. An employee’s daily tasks often require them to stop work in order to access a phone or radio to communicate with team members. With PTT, employees can send a message with the click of a button and receive a response like a normal radio. PTT ensures quick, day-to-day communications that keeps teams in touch without sacrificing productivity.

Further, push-to-talk is the ideal solution for coordinating teams across different sites, regions, and locations. Channels can be configured to best suit the needs of your business, so you are in control of connecting and managing the communication of your teams. G7c’s built-in cellular communications mean that it works right out of the box and PTT integrates seamlessly with your device’s existing gas detection and real-time safety options.
